Question: Visa required – arriving by ship

Good afternoon,

My family and I are from South Africa and we require a Visa to visit Vietnam in December. We will be arriving in Ho Chi Minh City by SHIP, Norwegian Star. How do we go about obtaining our Visas? The ship will also stop in Nha Trang, so we need a multiple Visa. On your website everything refers to obtaining the Visa when you arrive at the airport, which we will not be doing.

Please advise. Many thanks.

Kind Regards

Shannon Almeida

Answer

Dear Shannon Almeida,

Thank you for contacting us.

We would like to confirm that as you are arriving to Vietnam by cruise/ship, you would need to have Vietnam visa stamped into your passport prior to your arrival in Vietnam. Kindly go to Vietnam Embassy/Consulate abroad to apply the visa in person and contact them for more detailed procedures and fees. You can visit here to find the one that nearest your place.

We hope that the information above is helpful for you. Let us know should you have any further concern.

Best regards,
