Question: Get Vietnam visa for UK Passport Holder

Hi,

I am traveling to HCMC next week. I am a UK passport holder.

I notice on your website that UK passport holders do not require a visa for a trip less than 15 days. Can you confirm this?
When i arrive at the airport in HCMC can i proceed directly to immigration without any visa application?
Do i need to provide photos or pay any fees?

Yours sincerely
John Connolly

Answer

Hi John Connolly,

Thank you very much for contacting us.

This is to inform that under the new Vietnam Government Decree which takes effect from 1 July 2015, nationals of United Kingdom are exempt for a Vietnam visa within 15 days single entry regardless of passport types and purpose of visit. The must-condition to enjoy the visa free is the new entry date is more than 30 days from the last exiting date Vietnam.

If the time distance is less than 30 days or your stay in Vietnam is more than 15 days, you still need to apply for a visa.

When you arrive Ho Chi Minh airport, go directly to Arrival Immigration to get immigration stamp (no fee). You might be required to show evidence of 15 days stay (i.g: round-trip air ticket to and out Vietnam).

Should you need further information, do not hesitate to contact us.
