Question: Applying for a visa Vietnam in China

I am a British citizen living and working in Beijing but there is not an option to select residency in mainland China or Macau. Why is this and what should I do instead? I can state my UK residency but do not want my visa to be sent there.

Many thanks,

Sara

Answer

Dear Sara,

Thank you for contacting us.

We would like to inform that under the new Vietnam Government Decree which takes effect from 1 July 2015, nationals of United Kingdom are exempt for a Vietnam visa within 15 days single entry regardless of passport types and purpose of visit. The must-condition to enjoy the visa free is the new entry date is more than 30 days from the last exiting date Vietnam. In this case, we suggest that you should use your British passport if you meet all the conditions.

In addition, if you have visited Vietnam less than 30 days before your upcoming trip or if you wish to stay more than 15 days, applying for a visa is required. Once you applied, the visa result will be sent directly to your email address. You can submit your visa application with us here and choose your nationality as 'United Kingdom', or kindly send us your passport scan and the details of your upcoming trip to Vietnam for further advice.
