Vietnam E-visa Latest News: The new type of e-visa (90 days, multiple) will be valid from 15 Aug 2023
In April 2023, the Government of Vietnam made an official proposal to the National Assembly about some new policies in the management of entry, exit, and residence of foreigners in Vietnam, particularly extending the validity of Vietnam E-visa. And finally comes out, on 24 June, the National Assembly of Vietnam adopted this proposal of extending the duration of e-visa to 90 days with both single and multiple entries. This new will be effective from 15 Aug 2023.
It might be said that the extension of e-visa validity to 90 days, 3 times longer than the current valid e-visa, is considered as an impressive policy to draw much more foreigners to visit Việt Nam for socio-economic development in general and tourism in particular.
Since the execution of Vietnam E-visa in 2017, the number of foreigners using e-visa to enter Vietnam was increasing. Especially, in New Normal Period after Covid-19, this number has been dramatically soaring because of its convenience and simplicity. Therefore, the extension of e-visa to 90 days with multiple entries is rated as an open and promising factor attracting not only foreign travelers but also businessmen who want to stay in Vietnam longer for enjoying Vietnam destinations and doing market research or seeking investment opportunities. This change is perfect to meet the demand of a large number of foreigners to Vietnam and of course, we hope, the number of people visiting Vietnam will be high surged.
At this current time, people who hold e-visa for 30 days, single entry will face certain difficulties if they wish to stay in Vietnam longer since visa run takes money consuming and re-applying the new e-visa makes them more waiting time. And from 15 Aug 2023, all these will be erased, and they will no longer follow any procedure. You should note that this update will be in practice for those submitting their e-visa application on or after 15 Aug 2023. People who already have their e-visa issued or their e-visa application submitted before 15 Aug 2023 will not be authorized for this change.
