1. E-Visa (Recommended for Short Stays)

  • Eligibility: Available for Hong Kong passport holders and most nationalities.
  • Validity: Up to 90-day stay for single or multiple-entry.
  • Processing Time: 4-6 working days (Excluding Saturday, Sunday and Holiday in Vietnam and Hong Kong).
  • Fee: 25 USD for Single-entry | 50 USD for Multiple-entry.
  • How to Apply:
    1. Visit the official Vietnam e-visa portal: https://evisa.gov.vn
    2. Fill in the application form.
    3. Upload a passport-sized photo (4 x 6 cm Or 2 x 2 inches) and a scanned passport copy (Check Vietnam visa photo requirements and size).
    4. Pay the fee online.
    5. Receive the e-visa via email (PDF format).
    6. Print it out and present it upon arrival.

2. Visa on Arrival (VOA) (For Air Travel Only)

  • Eligibility: Available for all nationalities (except visa-exempt countries).
  • Validity: Single or multiple-entry (30 days).
  • Processing Time: 2-3 working days (Excluding Saturday, Sunday and Holiday in Vietnam and Hong Kong).
  • Fee: ~USD 20–50 (approval letter + stamping fee at the airport).
  • How to Apply:
    1. Apply online through a reliable travel agency (e.g., Get Visa Vietnam).
    2. Receive an approval letter via email.
    3. Fly to Vietnam (Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Cam Ranh, Phu Quoc etc.).
    4. Present the approval letter, passport, photos, and pay the stamping fee at the airport.

3. Apply at the Vietnam Consulate in Hong Kong

  • Eligibility: For those who prefer a sticker visa before travel.
  • Types of Visas:
    • Tourist Visa: For leisure travel, typically valid for 15-30 days.
    • Business Visa: For business meetings, conferences, or investment purposes, with varying validity periods.
    • Work Visa: For employment in Vietnam, with a maximum validity of 2 years.
    • Other Visas: Student visas, family visit visas, and investor visas also require application at an embassy
