How to apply Vietnam visa in Australia?

There are three main ways to apply for a Vietnam visa from Australia:

Option 1: Apply Online for an E-Visa (Recommended for Short Stays)

The e-visa is available for citizens of eligible countries, including Australia, for stays of up to 90 days.

  • Step 1: Visit the official Vietnam e-visa website: https://evisa.gov.vn/.
  • Step 2: Fill out the online application form with your personal details, passport information, and travel plans.
  • Step 3: Upload a digital passport-sized photo and a scanned copy of your passport’s biographical page (check the Vietnam visa photo requirements and size).
  • Step 4: Pay the e-visa fee online (USD 25 for single-entry, USD 50 for multiple-entry).
  • Step 5:  Wait for processing (usually 3-5 business days).
  • Step 6: Once approved, download and print your e-visa to present upon arrival in Vietnam.

Option 2: Apply Through the Vietnam Embassy or Consulate

If you need a visa for longer than 90 days or your nationality is not eligible for an e-visa.

  • Step 1: Prepare Required Documents:
    + Completed visa application form.
    + Original passport with at least 6 months validity and blank pages.
    + Passport-sized photos (check the Vietnam visa photo requirements and size).
    + Visa approval letter (if applicable, for visa on arrival).
    + Proof of travel arrangements (flight itinerary).
    + Proof of accommodation in Vietnam (hotel booking).
    + Visa fee (varies depending on visa type and processing time).
