This section provides guidance for German citizens to apply Vietnam visa. Germany are not included in the list of countries that allow visa-free travel, therefore, Germany passport holders have to arrange a Vietnam visa prior to departure.
Citizens of Germany and those are permanent residency in this country have two options to apply for Vietnam visa:
1. Nộp đơn xin thị thực Việt Nam tại Đại sứ quán/Lãnh sự quán Việt Nam:
Đây là cách truyền thống khi thị thực khi nhập cảnh không được áp dụng. Nó có hiệu lực đối với mọi công dân và mọi biên giới ở Việt Nam (sân bay, đường bộ hoặc đường biển).
- Thủ tục: Bạn đi đến gần nhất Đại sứ quán Việt Nam to apply the visa. Original passport is required and it might take around 4-5 working days for processing. You are advised to contact the Embassy/Consulate for visa application requirements in advance.

2. Nộp đơn xin thị thực Việt Nam khi nhập cảnh với Vietnamvisa.org.vn (chỉ áp dụng cho khách đến Việt Nam bằng máy bay)
Vietnam visa on arrival is nowadays preferred for its convenience, such as: easy to access online, no need to go in person to the Vietnam Embassy in Germany, no risk of losing your passport when sending it off to the Embassy, and save time (only 1-2 working days).

Đầu tiên bạn truy cập vietnamvisa.org.vn, gửi hồ sơ mẫu đơn trực tuyến an toàn, thực hiện thanh toán và đợi 2 ngày làm việc (dịch vụ thông thường) hoặc 1 ngày làm việc (dịch vụ khẩn cấp) để nhận Thư chấp thuận Visa qua email. In thư ra, chuẩn bị hộ chiếu, 02 ảnh và một ít đô la phí dán tem để được dán tem thị thực Việt Nam vào hộ chiếu khi bạn đến sân bay Việt Nam.
