Question: Visa from China
Dear Sir/Madam,
I live in Shanghai, China. I was about to apply for the visa to Vietnam from your website, but when I entered my address, there is a clear mention: CHINA (flying from another country, NOT from China…) What is the meaning? I have booked a flight from Shanghai to Ho CHi Minh. Is there any reason I cannot get the visa on arrival?
Looking forward to your reply.
Best regards,
Florent LAMY
Answer
Dear Florent LAMY,
Thank you for your email.
This is to inform that, basing on an agreement between Vietnam and China government, Chinese passport holders can apply Vietnam visa on arrival if they fly from other countries except China mainland, Macao, Hong Kong. Otherwise, you need to get visa at Vietnam embassy/consulate in foreign countries.
Therefore, if you take a flight from Shanghai, you need to get visa at Vietnam embassy in China. The following address belongs to Vietnam consulate in Shanghai. Please contact them for details.
