Question: How to apply Vietnam visa in Shanghai, China ?
I’m from the UK, living and working in Shanghai. I want to obtain a Visa from the embassy to travel to Vietnam. What do I need to do. Telephone message says fill in an application form, however I do not see any online? Do I need to fill in an application form before i come to the embassy?
Answer
Dear Peter,
Thank you for your email.
This is to inform that for United Kingdom passport holders, there are two options to apply Vietnam visa as follows.
1. Apply for Vietnam Visa at the nearest Vietnam Embassy/Consulate (effective for air, land and sea travellers): For visa procedure and fee, please contact the nearest Vietnam Embassy/ Consulate for more information.
2. Apply a visa on arrival to Vietnam with us (applicable for air travelers only): If you do not wish to go to the embassy to apply Vietnam visa in person, you can apply Vietnam visa on arrival at our website. It takes 1-2 working days to proceed your visa application only.
Please submit your visa application online here and make payment. If the visa application is approved by Vietnam Immigration, a Letter of Approval will be issued by Vietnam Immigration Department. With this letter, the applicants will be allowed to fly to Vietnam and receive their visa stamped on passport at the visa on arrival counter at international airport in Vietnam.
We will send you a scanned copy of the letter via email and the applicant just need to prepare a printed copy of the letter, passport, photo, entry and exit form (we will send you the form along with the visa letter) and stamping fee, then, please submit all to the immigration officer at the airport to get the visa stamped on passport. For visa fees, please visit here.
